About Woven Chairs:
Wicker is woven with material made from either natural plant fibers or synthetic fibers. Its use dates as far back as Ancient Egypt.
Danish Cord is woven tightly from paper material and then waxed. It is woven around a seat frame that typically has little hooks on the inside of the seat.
Splint chair seats are made of wood that has been cut in long thin strips and interwoven in various patterns. It is obtained from native ash and from tropical rattan palms.
About Replacement Seats:
Replacement seats are used in chairs that originally had a caned seat, a wood seat, or a leather seat. Fiber seats have an embossed design and can be stained to take on a leather-like look for a fraction of the cost. You will notice that our patterns are labeled as "flat" or "molded". The flat patterns will work on any chair regardless of the size of the hole in the seat. If you are going to purchase a molded pattern, be sure that the size of the pattern is smaller than the size of the hole in your chair.
