Strand Cane for Hand Weaving
Strand Cane, also known as hank cane, is used for hand weaving the seats and backs of caned chairs. Itβs the traditional material for restoring antique or handmade furniture with drilled-hole cane seats.
Note: If your chair seat or back has holes drilled around the outside edge, you need hand weaving. If there is a groove instead, use machine woven cane.
We stock three standard widths of strand cane and can order other sizes if needed β please contact us for special requests.
- Each Chair Coil includes approximately 270 feet of cane β enough for one average-size (12" x 14") chair seat.
- Includes an 8-foot strand of Binder Cane for finishing.
