    Perfect hardware to refurbish trunks produced in 1852-1860. A most important piece to restore a trunk to exceptional beauty

    Not Brass Plated

    These nails are NOT brass plated. The brass color is "painted" on somehow. When I cleaned the nails with lacquer thinner as preparation for corroding the brass to give the nails an aged appearance, all the color wiped off. Brass plating will not do this.
